“Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully.” (Jeremiah 48:10a)
What type of sacrifice do you have on the altar? Does it smell bad or good? We struggle to bring in new converts to church but no one to follow them up. So when you pray, “O LORD, bring souls to Your house,” do you mean that Jesus should do it Himself? If that is your intention, you are not wise. Why did God save you? He saved you so that you will win other people to Him.
Do you think God is not aware of your sacrifice? Are you one of those who do everything possible to bring people into the church and then do everything possible to drive them away also? If you do so, you are spoiling the work of your hand. Please don’t drive people away from the church with your attitude. God wants to connect with you but the connection will not happen until you have an acceptable sacrifice on His altar. I tell you the truth because I love you. I don’t want your prayers to be wasted.
Deceitfully, in the Bible passage above means halfheartedly or negligently. Word of Life Bible Church is the centre of excellence. So don’t do it at all, rather than do it deceitfully. I pity those thinking they can better their lives through deceit. You cannot succeed in life by obtaining money from people by false pretense. Anything or anyone telling you that you can is deceiving you. The Bible has said anyone who does such a thing is cursed.
Curses will not know your dwelling place. You are blessed wherever you are. Your going out is blessed, and so is your coming in.
WORD OF WISDOM: Don’t do it at all if you are going to do it deceitfully.
PRAYER/CONFESSION: In the name of Jesus, Father, I repent of self-deceit. Take the spirit of deception away from me and drive deceitful people away from me.
